After trying on a drop-veil in person, my debate between having my hair up or down was quickly solved. On me at least, a down-do just looked smushed and busy under the veil, whereas having my hair up gave my bridal look that "je ne se quois."
In researching vintage options for an up-do, I came across the much maligned style from the 1950s and 60s known as a "beehive." With modifications, of course (no Marge or Wino-do for me, thank you very much), I think a beehive-ish up-do could look very elegant.

What do you think? It's basically an up-do with mega-volume and sass. I think I like it!
